The Easter Egg Hunt is one of 2BC's most beloved traditions! This year, we'll gather in the Social Room at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, for breakfast and fun. At around 9:45, we'll walk up to William Jewell College and have our hunt there. Get your baskets ready for lots of treats!

Each week, a different deacon will lead us and discuss how they've found God outside the four walls of the church. We’ll have coffee and dessert each week, and you are welcome to bring a brown bag supper.

A Lent Sunday morning study of the Stephen Ministries book resource, “Caring Assertiveness,” will explore the essence of assertiveness, showing how this powerful but often misunderstood relational skill can be used to communicate with confidence and care in everyday encounters and challenging situations. Sara Langford and Marilyn Buhlig will lead the four-week study.

• The study will start on Sunday, March 16, and end on Sunday, April 6.

• It will meet on Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 10:45 (location TBD).

• Participants need to purchase the book. Each week, participants will read a portion of the book before Sunday morning. Then, on Sunday morning, we'll discuss the chapters we read.

• Please read the introduction and chapters 1, 2, 3, and 12 before the first meeting on March 16.

On the first Sunday of every month, we gather donations for the In As Much Ministry Food Pantry.

Calling all ladies at 2BC! Are you looking for a way to make connections and form friendships with other women at Second? If so, then our WOW Lunch Group is for you! We meet monthly for lunch at Liberty restaurants, and all women are welcome.

Join us for a cross-cultural experience of Ramadan during a community dinner on March 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the Social Room. This event is free, but reservations are required so we can plan for food. Register here:

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from pre-dawn to sunset. A tradition is to break the fast with family, neighbors, and friends. At the dinner, we will learn more about this event and recall the importance of Easter to our Christian faith. We’ll co-host this event with The Dialogue Institute of Kansas City and William Jewell College and hear from a speaker from The Dialogue Institute, William Jewell Chaplain Mellissa Dowling, and 2BC member Josh Hoops. 

Children of elementary age and up are welcome at the meal. Please note that we won't eat dinner until 7:25, so they might need a snack before they come. Childcare for children ages birth through pre-K is available with a reservation.

2BC’s own Kim Kankiewicz has a book coming out in the fall of 2026! Join in the Assembly Room to hear from Kim about the book and her lifelong journey to authorship. From 3:30 to 4:00, we’ll have cake and drinks. The program with Kim will begin at 4:00.

Kim’s book is Bellwether, the story of Lorena Weeks, a historical figure and telephone operator. During our time together, Kim will present a talk titled “Answering the Call: How a Trailblazing Telephone Operator Expanded Women’s Career Opportunities, Inspired a Fledgling Author, and Invites You to Fulfill Your Mission.” We hope you can join us!

Service is held in the Sanctuary, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Please note that the Pancake Dinner is NOT on Ash Wednesday like it was last year. Traditionally, pancakes are eaten the day before Ash Wednesday, on Shrove Tuesday. So that's what we're doing this year!
