Children's choirs are a fun and creative time for children to begin learning musical skills. Children also learn about worshiping God and leading the worship of God as they sing in the worship services periodically throughout the year. Our children’s choirs meet most Sundays from September to May from 9:30-10:00 a.m.. Younger children (PreK through 1st grade) are in Room 212 and older children (2nd-5th grades) are in Room 409.

The Student Choir is open to all students in grades 6-12. The choir leads in worship on a regular basis and sings three and four-part music in a variety of styles. Student Choir rehearsal is followed by a Snack Supper and student "INNERMISSION.”

The Sanctuary Choir provides worship leadership through music at the 11:00 a.m. worship service and for special events throughout the year. This choir is the focal point for many adults (ages 18+) wishing to find a place of ministry at Second Baptist Church. 

The choir meets for rehearsal each Wednesday night, usually in the Music Suite, Room 501 from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. To join, you are invited to simply come to a rehearsal. Instrumental ensembles comprise both adults and students (9th grade and older). The ensemble adds dimension to worship services during the Advent season, the summer months, and other special events during the year. Throughout the year, soloists and small ensembles accompany the congregation and the many choirs at Second Baptist Church in all worship services.

Second Baptist Church has a strong tradition of Handbell choirs. The Handbell choirs lead in worship by playing preludes, offertories, or accompaniments for the congregation and choral groups.

The Student Handbell Choir rehearses on Sundays at 8:45 a.m. in the Music Suite, Room 50. The Sanctuary Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. in the Music Suite, Room 501.

Upon Ann Posey’s retirement as our long-serving organist, we cast a vision for a Celebrating the Arts Series in her honor. Those who know Ann recognize her passion for encouraging people of every age to share their unique gifts.
