“…worship helps us to see who God really is, to experience God, to hear God, then respond. I am not just talking about the singing or the music but what happens in a worship service from the time we enter to the time we leave.”

--Constance M. Cherry, “The Worship Architect”

Sundays at Second

9:00 a.m. Worship

This service is more contemporary and offers guitar, piano, and other instruments and singers who lead the music in worship. We meet in person in Tutt Chapel, (entrance off of Kansas St. and on the second level)

10:00 a.m. Bible study and community groups (for all ages)

Community groups provide us with an intentional way to nurture our relationship with God and grow in our relationship with one another. We provide weekly community group and Bible study times for adults, students, and children.

Adults
We invite you to join one of our ongoing Sunday morning Bible study groups. These groups meet year-round at 10:00 a.m. We also offer pop-up group studies throughout the year. These studies usually last from 6-8 weeks and also meet on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. Other community groups, like Senior Adult Coffee and Conversation, Women on Mission, and the Men’s Breakfast group, meet for fellowship and study at different times throughout the week. Stop by the Connections Corner in the Welcome Center to learn more about the latest community group offerings. A list of the current groups can be downloaded here, or contact the office for details, at 816-781-2824, or info@2BCLiberty.org.

Student (6th-12th grade)
We have student Bible study every Sunday morning from 10:00-10:45 a.m. in the Student Room.

Children (birth-5th grade)
We have children’s Bible study classes every Sunday morning from 10-10:45 a.m.

11:00 a.m. Worship

This service is more traditional, featuring our Wicks/Quimby pipe organ and Sanctuary choir, as well as an orchestra during special seasons.

Worship from Home

For those who choose to worship from home, services can be found on YouTube and Facebook beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays.

5:30 p.m. Innermission (for middle and high schoolers)

Snack supper, games, worship, and small groups.

There is one aspect that you will find in all our worship services. We value the liturgy (literally meaning “the work of the people”), and there are many in our congregation who volunteer to lead in worship by reading Scripture, leading responsive readings, praying, and guiding other aspects of our worship.

Robert Webber, a liturgical scholar and theologian, said that we know that we have truly worshiped when we are changed as a result of having spent time in God’s presence. We hope that you will try one of our services and that all of us will experience the life change that only a relationship with God in Christ will produce.
