In only a few weeks, 2BC’s Christmas Store will be open for caring! We need YOU! YES!! YOU!!
Over all the years that 2BC has provided the Christmas Store, one constant has been the support of our church members. The Store cannot happen without YOU! Please keep reading to learn more about the Store and how you can help.
What is the Christmas Store?
For over 12 years, our church family has provided a meaningful, joy-filled, and dignity-honoring Christmas shopping experience for community families. The Store gives parents the opportunity to:
Shop for brand-new gifts at a reduced price
Make their own choices for their children’s Christmas gifts
Why do we do the Christmas Store?
Before the store began, the Missions Committee at the time read the book Toxic Charity by Robert Lupton. This book sheds light on how ministries can do more harm than help. 2BC shifted how we help, give, and share as a community. The Store was designed to elevate the parents’ and guardians’ experience of providing Christmas for the children in their care.
We recognize that purchasing Christmas gifts can create an extra financial burden on families who may already be struggling daily. 2BC is passionate about helping families, and an important way we reach out to the Liberty community is through the Christmas Store. The spirit of the store gives parents the dignity of purchasing gifts that they select for their children.
The Store provides two gifts per child for 225-250 children (newborn to 18 years of age), which means we need over 500 gifts PER YEAR!
Each year, it takes $5,000 to $7,000 in monetary donations, in addition to donated toys!
How does the Christmas Store work?
Liberty area families are referred by school social workers and counselors and In As Much Ministry. Families follow the registration steps with Karri George and select a shopping time during the Store hours. When the family arrives at 2BC, they are warmly greeted by the Store volunteers and treated to holiday music, festive decorations, and homemade cookies. Each family has a 2BC volunteer who serves as their personal shopper to guide their shopping experience. The parents and/or guardians take the time to carefully select two gifts per child and fill a stocking for each child. The gifts are wrapped if they would like them to be, or we provide wrapping paper, tape, and bows for them to wrap at home.

Purchase new gifts in the price range of $10-$40. The Store is a shopping experience for families and needs to be stocked well so that all families, whether they shop first or last, have the same incredible supply of gifts from which to choose. About 250 children are typically shopped for, which means we need far more than 500 gifts each year!!! We have an Amazon Wish List that you can shop and the items will be sent directly to the church.
Church Address: 300 E. Kansas St. | Liberty, MO 64068
Stocking Stuffer Donations – Each child will get at least one toy or gift item in their stocking. We need a wide variety of stuffers for all ages.
Donate Extra Halloween Candy – We use this for stocking stuffers. We will take individually wrapped pieces of candy that are nut-free and not Halloween-specific. Look for wagons in the Welcome Center the day after Halloween.
Monetary Donations – Leave the shopping to us! Checks can be made to 2BC with Christmas Store in the memo line and then dropped in the offering boxes in the sanctuary or the lockbox in the Welcome Center. Online donations can be made in the Christmas Store line by clicking the button below.
If you attend 2BC and think it may be difficult to provide gifts to your children this year, please contact Karri George or call the church office.
The Christmas Store is a truly magical experience made possible by 2BC members each year. Prayerfully consider how you might help. Contact Karri George with any questions.
