"Each of Us Is Gifted" by Ryan Dickson
Needless to say, 2020 has been a challenging year for all of us. Our way of life has been altered, activities and vacations canceled, and for our church—connecting in person has been replaced by phone calls, texts, e-mails, and Zoom meetings. Unfortunately, the impact also reaches our Ministry Fair—a time when the church gathers together to showcase and inform members of all opportunities to serve within the church and minister in God’s vision.
This year, much like so many events, our Ministry Fair will go virtual. Our dedicated Ministry Leaders will be providing videos of each ministry and invite those willing to help serve on our important ministries at 2BC. I would ask all of you to view videos and prayerfully consider joining or becoming involved with a ministry at Second Baptist.
All of us have gifts and strengths that can be utilized within the church and community, especially in these difficult times. Using our strengths glorifies God and what He has called all of us to do and help proclaim His word. Ministry is a privilege for all of us, not an obligation. Galatians 5:13 says, “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
So, we are all called to do ministry and even minister. In all kinds of different ways so that the gospel can be proclaimed, the kingdom can be built, and God can be glorified.
I believe ministry is now more important than ever. I invite you to love and serve one another!
