SERVE SUNDAY 2024

This year, Serve Sunday is on Sunday, May 5. As in years past, we'll gather at 2BC at 9:30 a.m. for a short worship service before heading to our service projects. After we're done with our projects, we'll gather for a picnic at Stocksdale Park at 12:15 p.m.

We have multiple projects lined up, and many are family-friendly. There's a project for everyone who wants to participate. Projects will happen at 2BC and at sites around Liberty. This year, the projects in the community will take place at the following places:

  • In As Much Ministries

  • William Jewell Community Garden

  • Martha Lafite Nature Sanctuary

  • Lillian Schumacher Elementary

  • William Jewell (making finals treat bags for students)

  • Life Unlimited

If you'd rather do a project at 2BC, we have several opportunities, such as helping get ready for the rummage sale in South Dakota and writing notes or preparing treat baskets for first responders.

Another service option is to help with the picnic, including jobs like transporting food and tables to Stocksdale Park, serving at the picnic, cleaning up, etc.

At the picnic, we'll enjoy hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and drinks. Plan to stick around for fellowship and games, including ultimate frisbee, or try nine square in the air (a youth group favorite!) Food and drinks are provided but bring your own chairs or blankets.

Serve Sunday is always a fun day! Click on the button for the service projects sign-ups and more details about Serve Sunday. You can also call the church office at 816-781-2824 for help signing up.

APRIL 2BC SERVES: FOOD DRIVE AT PRICE CHOPPER

SIGN UP HERE

2BC Serves is our monthly mission initiative when we organize service projects in our community. The projects are family-friendly opportunities for our congregation to serve together.

Our April project is a food drive at Price Chopper for In As Much Food Pantry. We also did a food drive at Price Chopper in November, and it was a huge success! This is a great service opportunity for families with kids.

  • On Saturday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., we need volunteers to pass out food lists and grocery bags to shoppers at Price Chopper. We'll also load food donations onto the In As Much truck

  • We'll have a table at the front doors. As shoppers enter the store, we'll give them lists and grocery bags.

  • The hope is that they will buy a few items from the list and bring them back to donate to In As Much. Then, we'll load the items into the truck.

  • You can sign up for one-hour shifts. Kids are welcome!

  • We'll be at the Price Chopper across from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. (9717 N Ash Ave, Kansas City, MO 64157)
