THE CHRISTMAS STORE 2023

Thursday, Dec. 7 | 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 8 | 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 9 | 9:00 to 11 a.m.

At Christmas, families can lack extra resources to purchase gifts for their children and struggle just to make ends meet. 2BC is passionate about helping families, and an important way we reach out to the Liberty community is through The Christmas Store. The spirit of the store gives parents the dignity of purchasing gifts for their children for a nominal cost of $5 per child.

Our church family provides everything that happens at The Store through gift donations, monetary donations, and volunteer time. The Store does not happen without everyone giving as they can in big and small ways – it all makes a difference! Keep on reading then prayerfully consider how you can help.

How The Store Works

Liberty area families are referred by school social workers and counselors. Each family registers and schedules a shopping time. When they arrive at 2BC, they are greeted by volunteers and treated to holiday music, decorations, and homemade cookies. A personal shopper guides the parents through the store as they shop for two perfect gifts for each child. The gifts are wrapped while they move on to fill stockings for each child.

How to Make The Store Magical

  • Donate Extra Halloween Candy – We use this for stocking stuffers. We will take individually wrapped pieces of candy that are nut-free and not Halloween-specific. Look for wagons in the Welcome Center the day after Halloween.

  • Gift Donations – We provide gifts for 225-250 children, ages newborn-18, which means we need far more than 500 gifts each year!! The Store is a shopping experience for our families and needs to be stocked well so that all families, whether they shop the first night or the final morning, have the same incredible gift choices. Only new gifts, please. We suggest donated gifts range in price from $10-$40. When choosing gifts, consider what the kids in your life enjoy. The variety of items is what makes The Store so unique. You can also shop through the Amazon link that will be included in the e-news.

  • Stocking Stuffer Donations – In addition to the candy mentioned above, each child will receive a toy or gift item in their stocking. We need a wide assortment of stocking stuffers for all ages.

  • Monetary Donations – Leave the shopping to us! Each year it takes $5000-7000 in monetary donations, on top of the toys donated by church members, to make The Store work. Checks can be made to 2BC, include Christmas Store in the memo line, and then drop in the lock box in the Welcome Center, or donations can be made online through the HUB.

**All monetary donations are tax-deductible**

How to Help This Season

  • Pre-Store – Remove price tags, bag candy, organize gifts, set up, and so much more.

  • During The Store – personal shopper, gift wrapper, welcome center host, gift runner, restock shopper, and more!

  • After The Store – All remaining gifts are sorted and boxed up for use next year.

  • Baking Cookies – We love to have homemade cookies (peanut-free only) for the families who shop. If you love to bake, this is perfect for you!

The Christmas Store is truly a magical experience for all the families who shop. The feelings you’ll have on Christmas morning when thinking about all the kids opening their gifts, and the pride the parents feel will make it more magical for you, too.
