Student Pastor
Second Baptist Church seeks to hire a full-time Student Pastor to serve and lead our middle and high school students, beginning end of Summer 2026.
The Student Pastor will join a healthy and forward-looking congregation committed to nurturing students in whole-life faith and meaningful Christ-centered community. This leader will cultivate a vibrant ministry that supports students in their spiritual formation, emotional growth, and missional engagement.
The Student Pastor will provide vision, leadership, and oversight for all aspects of student ministry (grades 6–12), including weekly gatherings, small groups, retreats, mission experiences, and partnership with families. This role includes equipping and developing adult volunteers, maintaining strong administrative systems, and stewarding ministry resources with integrity and transparency.
Second Baptist seeks a Student Pastor who demonstrates spiritual maturity, emotional health, and a deep love for students and their families. The ideal candidate will be an engaging teacher of Scripture, a thoughtful relational presence, and a capable organizational leader who can build sustainable ministry structures.
Candidates must have earned a Master of Divinity degree or be enrolled in an accredited Master of Divinity or equivalent theological degree program. Meaningful experience in student ministry is required.
Second Baptist Church is a 175-year-old multigenerational congregation located in Liberty, a fast-growing suburb of Kansas City, within walking distance of William Jewell College and the downtown Liberty square.
