Second Baptist Church, Liberty

Welcome

A place to experience belonging

Many people spend years looking for their people. We found ours at Second Baptist Church. Sometimes the person who has the hardest time finding community in a church is the pastor. At Second Baptist, that has not been the case. As a 2BC pastor, I’m also free to be a person among people, sharing faith, questions, and life together. This is a place where I, too, experience belonging… a rare gift.

I’ve heard more than one person say that when they became part of the 2BC community, they felt like they could breathe again. I know what they mean. There is grace here… space for faith, for questions, and for doubt. The people of Second make room for joy and struggle, the relationships here carry life. If you’re searching for your people, or simply for a place to breathe and be human, you are welcome here. We would be glad to meet you and to walk alongside you at whatever pace you need.

Senior Pastor

What to Expect on Sundays

Sunday mornings at Second Baptist include two worship services and Bible study for all ages between them.

You’re welcome to come for one hour or to stay for the full morning. If you’d like help finding your way, greeters in the Welcome Center can point you toward worship spaces, classrooms, and coffee.

Worship is rooted in Scripture and includes shared leadership through Scripture reading, prayer, and congregational singing. Our pastors preach in both services, and members of the congregation also help lead. We think of worship as something we do together, not something we watch.

We offer two Sunday morning services:
9:00 a.m. — A more intimate, contemporary service held in Tutt Chapel
11:00 a.m. — A traditional service in the sanctuary featuring choir and organ

Both services follow the same Scripture, prayers, and sermon. The difference is the sound and the setting.

Between services, Bible study classes for all ages meet from 10:00–10:45 a.m.
