Danny Bryson serves as the interim student pastor. He works with students in grades 6-12, partnering with volunteer leaders to reach, disciple, and care for young people while also supporting their families.
Danny brings decades of ministry experience to his role. He began serving in student ministry at his home church, First Baptist Church in Clinton, Missouri, during and after college. He later served for 12 years as minister of education and administration at First Baptist Church in Sedalia, Missouri, and for 28 years as education and outreach pastor at First Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After a brief retirement, he returned to active ministry and joined the staff of Second Baptist Church.
Danny holds a bachelor’s degree in religion and church recreation from Southwest Baptist University and a master’s degree in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He enjoys mountain biking, hiking, most sports, time in nature, home improvement projects, listening to smooth jazz, contemporary Christian music and oldies, eating ice cream, and cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs. He and his wife, Connie, have three adult children and four grandchildren and enjoy spending time together with their dog, Dori.
