What's New With You by Kim Halfhill
I don’t know about you (maybe I’m just slowly coming back to day-to-day living after the holiday season), but I’m still wrestling with my New Year’s resolutions. Although I don’t typically make resolutions, this year feels different. 2020 rings in not only a new year but a new decade. Somehow that seems more significant than new years past. After much thought, I think I’ve finally landed on an intention for the year rather than a resolution. (Yes, I know what they say about good intentions!) But to be intentional, that means to do something with care or purpose.
What is your intention for the year? Is it growth? Gratitude or faithfulness? Connection, healing or self-care? Whatever it is, I challenge you to connect with a community group at 2BC that will help you live into your intention this year. A core part of our missional statement is whole-life faith, faith that extends beyond the walls of our church and into our whole lives. Our community groups strive to do life together as a community of faith, to grow together, learn together, and fellowship together. If you’re already part of a community group, dig in deeper. If you haven’t accepted the invitation to be part of a community group, this is the time. There are open spaces in existing groups (beginning new studies) and new groups are forming. What are you waiting for? We’re saving a spot just for you.
You can learn more about our community groups on our Community Groups page or by contacting Kim Halfhill, Engagement Director.
PS. In case you were wondering, in 2020 I’m striving to be more intentional about seeking and sharing joy. I think I’ll begin this Sunday morning with fellowship and coffee in my community group!
