A Special Request from Pastor Jason: Year-End Gifts
Second Baptist Friends,
What if I were to tell you that I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Kansas City Chiefs will win the Superbowl at the end of this season?
I would be lying if I told you that (who knows!), but now that I have your attention, I have a request.
Churches all over our world are experiencing a variety of challenges as we renew our lives together in the wake of the pandemic.
We have our own set of challenges, which are also opportunities.
One of the most pressing challenges facing us right now is financial. In response to that, we would like to invite you to rise to this challenge with a special, additional year-end gift to Second Baptist Church.
We are so grateful for your generosity in the past and your planned generosity for the future. So many of you have generously fulfilled your financial commitments to our current ministry plan and have committed to fund our next ministry plan, which begins in January 2023.
We are also currently experiencing a deficit this calendar year. Based on current estimates, we will still need an additional $250,453 before December 30 to significantly close the shortfall in this year’s giving. This will help us begin our next ministry plan in a strong place.
There are approximately 300 households actively committed to Second Baptist Church. If each household were to give an additional $835 to our church this year, our gifts would cover all 2022 ministry expenses.
We know some have given all they can and more. Thank you! God has given others of us the ability to give well beyond our “fair share.” We are hoping and praying for your additional generosity. Any additional amount you might offer will help us close the gap.
Please take a moment to pray for our church and to ask for God’s guidance about making an additional year-end financial gift to Second Baptist.
Thank you so much for your generosity,
Jason Edwards
Senior Pastor
Second Baptist Church
Liberty, MO
P.S. Go Chiefs!
