Session 2: Whole-Life Generosity Bible Study
This fall, as part of our Catalyst Ministry Plan emphasis, Second Baptist will spend three weeks in a Bible study written by Senior Pastor Jason Edwards around the theme “Welcomed and Known.” The study will be offered twice a week (Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings) beginning on September 16. Everyone is invited to participate in this churchwide study.
Welcomed and Known: A Three-Week Study on Whole-Life Generosity invites us to explore generosity as part of our shared life with God and one another. Together, we’ll begin with God’s extravagant love, practice seeing our lives as gifts entrusted to us, and consider how generosity makes room for others to experience the abundant life of Christ.
Each week will include Scripture, conversation, reflection, and practical questions about how our time, attention, abilities, service, relationships, and financial giving help us participate in God’s work through Second Baptist.
September 16 & 20 | Session One | Extravagant Love: Welcomed and Known
September 23 & 27 | Session Two | Gratitude: Every Good Gift
September 30 & October 4 | Session Three | Generosity: Making Room
Sunday morning sessions will be in regular Bible study classes where the teachers/leaders will use the Generosity curriculum written by Jason. Check with your leader about the plan for your group. If you aren’t currently part of a Sunday morning Bible study group and would like to be, Jana Atkinson can help you find a group. Contact her at jatkinsonmorga@2bcliberty.org.
Wednesday evening sessions will meet in the Social Room and will run from 6 to 6:45 p.m. These sessions will be led by members of the Financial Stewardship Committee. No RSVP is necessary, and if you can’t come to all three sessions, that’s okay. Please come when you can.
