2BC Annex : AKA The Meyer's Building

2BC Annex – AKA The Meyer’s Building  at 10 N. Leonard Street

You may want to know what has happened with the building since the church acquired it in December.  The current tenants, the small engine repair business, has been granted use of the building until March 1, when they will move to a new location.  In the meantime, a property use team, led by Allan Aunspaugh, is being assembled to assess the current condition of the building, secure the property for the safety of the church and community, and determine possible short and long-term uses of the building.  Our hope is that you will see a gradual transition into a safe and secure property as we rebrand the building in the coming months.

For questions please contact Allan Aunspaugh at the church, 781-2824.

Middle School Retreat

This past weekend 25 of us traveled to Miracle Hills Retreat in Bethany, MO for a Middle School Retreat. We began our retreat with our new People Mover getting stuck in the mud right before we reaching our destination. Thank God that the guy who runs the retreat had a tractor who could pull us out of the mud, and thank God for Mark Hilton who was willing to help guide the vehicle out.

Our students loved the beautiful landscape and atmosphere at Miracle Hills. It’s a fantastic place to getaway. It’s not too fancy, and it’s not rundown. Our sessions revolved around three questions: Who am I?, Who is God?, and Who are we? These conversations were rich with meaning and significance for all of us.

We had a great time playing Scatterball (Legends style), football, and Capture-the-Flag. All around, it was a fantastic experience and I am so honored to have been with our students.

This past weekend our students traveled to Baylor University for the YouthCue Festival of Student Choirs. There they were joined by scores of other students from across the nation who lifted up their voices in praise to God.   I was so excited to go with them! But…on the morning before we left, I suddenly caught the stomach bug that Henry had. I was so sad to call Allan and tell him that I wouldn’t be going with them. I got lots of texts and Snapchats from students telling me about their experience. It looks like they had a fantastic time! Thanks so much to Allan Aunspaugh for all of the planning and preparation that went into making this event a success!
