The Excitement of Returning to Routine by Kim and Kaylee Halfhill

New pencils, perfectly formed crayons, and pristine, empty composition books. We’re not sure why, but we are always excited to buy new school supplies. Every sharpened pencil and every blank page beg for a new story to be written. It’s almost as if they’re waiting for just the right moment to begin a new adventure. It’s a time to begin again, to return to the familiar rhythm of school, work, and church. Don’t get me wrong. We’re not exactly ready to say goodbye to the fun and freedom of summer. But the promise of those blank pages, of stories not yet written, gets me every time.

Ready or not, fall is coming and so is Fall Kick-off Sunday at 2BC!  We’ll gather together on Sunday, September 8 to worship, re-connect, and fellowship. This year’s Fall Kick-off Sunday will include the Sent Out Ministry Fair where you can check out ministry and mission opportunities for the upcoming year. You will also have the opportunity to sign-up for a community group. Community groups provide us with an intentional way to nurture our relationship with God and grow in relationship with one another. There are lots of groups to choose from, from fellowship groups to intensive Bible studies, and we’re saving a spot just for you. Plus, make plans to stick around for lunch from local food trucks and a Chiefs watch party following the 11:00 a.m. worship service.

Whether you’re digging your flip flops in the sand wishing for a few more weeks of summer or eagerly awaiting the first days of fall, join us for our Fall Kick-off on Sunday, September 8!  In the meantime, for more information about community groups, the Ministry Fair, or Fall-Kick-off Sunday, please contact Kim Halfhill, Engagement Director, at [email protected] or 816-781-2824.
