As advisers with Together For Hope, CBF’s rural poverty initiative, the Sherins are involved in research focused on community development. Kenny serves as community and development adviser, assisting with community development research. He is interested in empowering communities through entrepreneurship and developing holistic ministry strategies. Karen serves as a grant adviser, as well as using her skills and training to study community development techniques and methods. "Kenny and I enjoy serving in the local church," Karen said. "Living and working in a rural community, makes us long for ways to better minister to the people. We feel called to minister in rural communities and to equip and encourage churches and faith groups to assist with the improvement and development of their communities"

You can read more about the Sherins in the latest edition of The Bridge, page 23.
